This perspective on the psychological dimension of space pessimism is really insightful. The observation that Pargin's arguement reads more like processing dissapointment than serious techncial analysis gets at something important about how we frame impossibility. When scientific progress runs on multi-generational timescales, the question isn't realy whether something violates physics but whether societies maintain institutional commitment through those stretches where nothing dramatic happens. That's the harder problem than antimatter production curves.
